     Located more than 280 feet above ground level, it’s a bit of a trip to get to the Mandarin Oriental, New York’s lobby. And it’s a bit of a trip just how gorgeous it is once you get there (think floor-to-ceiling windows with breathtaking, panoramic Manhattan views).

The 248 modern-cum-traditionally-Asian guestrooms have views of the city skyline, Central Park, or the Hudson River. And then there are the suites: The Taipan Suite is zen-chic with art deco accents, The Oriental Suite represents the brand’s Asian heritage with rich textiles, and the Mozambique wood paneled Presidential Suite boasts its own grand piano.

If your room isn’t quite relaxing enough, head to the 14,500-square-foot, two-floor-SPAnning SPA. Developed in consultation with Traditional Chinese Medicine experts and master aromatherapists, it also includes a state-of-the-art fitness center and 75-foot lap pool.
And you simply can’t leave before sampling the elegant Asian-inflected menu at 35th-floor, Tony Chi-designed Asiate or sidling up to the hammered nickel island bar at MObar for an exotic cocktail.
